Islandaire, Inc. is pleased to introduce the I N T E L L I T E M P ™, a fully automated, energy wise solid state climate control system that will transform a straight cooling with electric heat PTAC unit into a highly efficient unit with energy savings superior to that of a heat pump. I N T E L L I T E M P ™ has been designed to be user friendly with easy to read 3/4" LED displays and touch pad controls. Simply select the desired room temperature and I N T E L L I T E M P™ will automatically, comfortably and efficiently maintain that temperature. It's that easy!

Heat Pump vs. I N T E L L I T E M P ™

Although it is true that a heat pump is an energy efficient heating alternative to operating a PTAC unit equipped only with electric heat, there are many other hidden expenses to consider. Higher maintenance costs and premature compressor failure can be expected in a heat pump due to stressing the refrigeration system by operating the unit in colder ambient temperatures and running the unit two to three months longer each season. There is also the potential for both interior and exterior water damage resulting from excessive condensation common to heat pump operation. This is especially true in buildings that are converting from a non-heat pump units to heat pump units where condensate drain systems are not provided. Improper sleeve pitch or inadequate drainage, resulting in interior condensate infiltration or exterior staining of the building, can lead to costly repairs. The I N T E L L I T E M P™ by Islandaire, Inc. is the solution to avoiding these potential heat pump deficiencies, while providing better performance and energy savings.

I N T E L L I T E M P™ Testing

All warranties are void if the Unit and/or its refrigeration circuit has been damaged, misused, subjected to abnormal use or service, or if its serial number has been altered, defaced, or removed. The warranty does not cover corrections to conditions due to misapplication, improper installation or inadequate wiring, inadequate voltage conditions or unauthorized opening of the refrigeration circuit. Nuisance calls are not covered by this warranty.

LILCO (Long Island Lighting Company - Now Long Island Power Authority - LIPA) conducted an independent test at a local hotel comparing an Islandaire, Inc. PTAC unit equipped with I N T E L L I T E M P™ to a Zoneaire high efficiency heat pump. Test results concluded that the Islandaire, Inc. I N T E L L I T E M P ™ system reduced 'demand energy' up to 50% over the heat pump unit under indentical conditions.
